MAKING SPACE

Another busy day at the shed today.
Clearing space for the workshop but making sure that the guys from the Mansfield shop still have plenty of room.
Managed to make myself a roomy office,
please knock before you enter!!!

Following lone working policies I decided to take the guard dog with me.

She sooon got fed up and went off to practice for the next world cup (can't do any worse).

FIRST DONATION

Thanks to John Bryan for the first donation of a woodworking tool.
He explained to me (at length and in detail !!) how an ancestor, Little John Bryan, had used the spoke shave to fashion Robin Hoods bow.

But seriously thanks for the belt sander. I am sure it will come in very useful.

First setback today.
I think I must have misread the measurements for the coffee table!!
Its taken me all day to turn one leg.

Visit to Larkhill

I met Bill at Larkhill Village in Clifton today.
He works in the woodworking shop making various items for the residents.
It was nice to get some advice from a man who has helped set up the workshop.
He told me that residents often pop in and ask for custom made bird tables etc.
If you have an requests please get in touch.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Hello

This is my first attempt at a blog so please bear with me.

Welcome to my new home.

As you can see from the pictures, not so much a blank canvas more of an abstract painting of the furniture department of John Lewis.

Over the coming weeks I hope to create a workshop for older men in the North Nottinghamshire former coal-mining communities.

If you have any ideas or would like to donate any good quality woodworking tools or know of somebody who may benefit from the project please contact me.
